I've just posted some pics of this to the photos section. Turns out the big transformer is actually taking the 115 VAC froms pins 7 and 8 of the 564 connector and using it for the base drive generator and the collector power supply. So to use it in the 564B a separate AC connection will be needed. There is a very complete description of this unit in its patent which can be found on the free US Patent Office website. Patent number is 3,573,618.
Still, if anyone has a lead to a manual I'd appreciate it!
