The problem is that he gives a 1 year (I think) warranty and voids it if the seals are broken. By the time you find out you have a counterfeit 2465B, ebay has timed out on their protection.

That's what eBay protection is for. If he's sold you something that isn't
as described, then you just raise a case with eBay. Either he compensates
you or you get a refund. Obviously you need to check it out when you
receive the item.
