It could be that the dipped style appear to have had the most failures because there were so many of them used by Tek, and so close to the rating margin.

My theory on these is that the hermetically sealed can types are better (virtually no failures in my experience) because no moisture gets in. I think that in more "modern" times, with improvements in materials and process, the newer ones of all versions are probably much better.
