The circuit shown in this article is dangerous as it presents a
significant shock hazard to anyone contacting the negative test
terminal. Users may incorrectly believe that the low side of the
capacitor is at ground potential but the voltage on this terminal is
effectively half-wave rectified mains voltage and sufficient current is
available to provide a fatal electrical shock
