Microphone Replacement

Steve Matzura

I keep the stock microphone connected because it has the DTMF keypad which, of course, doubles as a miniature control device. However, as we all know, it's not the greatest microphone on earth. I'm looking for recommendations for a suitable replacement, even a powered microphone will do. I know I'll lose the DTMF and other control functions, but I can certainly get over that loss ;-) - Thanks in advance.

If you can find a Motorola HMN3596A palm mic, and re-do the pinout for the Kenwood you will have the finest mobile microphone.   Regards, Phil / K4PO

Also, one can obtain a Kenwood commercial microphone which results in excellent audio.

Thanks. I'll keep that one at the top of the lookout list.
