D700 Cooling fan always runs

Kirk J Eckhardt

The fan on my d700 always turns on the moment I key up. Is this normal, a setting change, or is it "malfunctioning"? It's a bit annoying as the fan is noisy. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

Mine does the same, a few years ago I had to change the fan itself, because it came too noisy. I'm sure I got the fan from Kenwood, or Giga parts, good luck, 73 de kf4kul

Normal for fan to run upon key up. Fan is fairly noisy, also normal.

Next time fan gets noisy, peel the sticker off, drill a tiny hole if one is not already there, add 1 drop of 3n1 oil, all fixed! Replace sticker or add a day of silicon bathroom chalk

My D710 fan starts as soon as I key up and will run for another two minutes after I unkey.
