I would check the AIP setting, menu item 1-3-5, if it is on it would
explain the problem. The AIP is great for limiting the intermod monsters in a metro area, but really kills the receive sensitivity. Kurt KC8RWD-14 --- In TMD700A@..., "Daniel J. That is the front end sensitivity, as determined by that ofunscientific testing, appears to be about 1/4 or worse than results.my TH-F6 with a rubber duck! So here is the test and the antenna at a(6m-2m-0.7m). I am running APRS (144.390) on channel A and getpoint where I could see the mountain on which the repeater was withthe repeater to even break the squelch (or hear the repeater thethe squelch open) on the D700 running at high power. anyrepeater and could hear the repeater at full quieting without opened upproblem. The squelch still did not break on the D700 so I repeaterthe squelch all the way and could not hear either myself thethat I could hear with the HT. Next I transmitted with the D700 wattsVSWR to be about 1.1 or less and the transmission was about 50 thatinto the antenna. Next I put the HT on the external antenna gothad been on the D700 on the HT and the signal in and out only site andbetter. To make matters worse as I approached the repeater fourcut the line of sight distance by about a factor of three to the(1/4 to 1/3 the distance at which the HT was at full quieting) squelchD700 woke up and heard the repeater signal. I am running a tone noticeshould behave normally. This same sensitivity problem seems to startedmuch because I kept the volume off on that channel until I APRShaving problems. Since I did not have a means to decode the that thesignals on the HT I could not verify that I was getting full D700.or othercheck before I box it and mail it back to Kenwood it would be othermailing lists, please see the Vienna Wireless Society web site: othermailing lists, please see the Vienna Wireless Society web site: mailing lists, please see the Vienna Wireless Society web site:
