Help!
Dave Laverty <dave7595@...>
I can't help much as I'm not too much ahead of you... Lack of time, understanding, etc... I do know you will have to make your own cable, and the garmin ends are found here:

I have recently got a TM-D700e with a view to using the GPS on air.
However I find I dont understand the jargon in the handbook (must be getting old or just a bit thick!). I have a Garmin street pilot (old orange screen not colour) this has a four pin data socket on the rear which I use for uploading maps to the gps from my pc and also in the car to provide power from a seperate lead. I know I need a lead to go from the rig to the GPS but not sure what pins are what or indeed which is needed for power as I still need that as well! As I said previously I dont understand the jargon in the handbook for the rig so could do with some help to set up if some one can give it to me in plain english! I am also on APRS one the web and have that running ok but not with the GPS connected. Can anyone out there help me get this going please? Many thanks 73 Colin G3VCQ |
