TM-710G TNC - How to use the CAL command

jdnell@...

I see the CAL command is available in the TNC, but how does one use it?  What commands are available for adjusting the LO (1200 Hz) and HI (2200 Hz) packet tones?  Any help or directions will be appreciated!

Thanks...John...K9JDN

They have a whole migration-from-Yahoo-Groups feature, that makes it pretty seamless. The web UI is also far superior, if you choose to use it.

I have no problem with moving the group to Groups.io.    Just please remember to give us good directions on how to join it there.

I vote for the move to Groups.io.

Yahoo Groups has become a browser-unfriendly hot mess with randomly delayed email notifications. Time to move.

Make it so.

Hello all,

Based on the slow downfall of reliability of Yahoo Groups, it is time we make the move to Groups.io.

Several other ham radio groups to which I belong have already made the switch.

I suspect I will get a bit of comments one way or the other but does anyone think that sticking with Yahoo Groups is a good long term strategy?

Thanks,

I have no idea what year the D700A first came out, all I know is that I purchased mine approx 12 years ago from The Ham Store and had it shipped to the UK as a Grey import.  In that time, never had a problem or anything to complain about. Still in use today, although not as often as it used to be, everything works and microphone cable still in good condition.

A great purchase for me, my first New mobile radio, and one of the best buys that I've made. I intend to keep it operating until no longer viable.

I was curious and checked out first message was back in December of 1999. The microphone cable disintegrated but other than that, it works as good as it did when I bought it from a store in Salt Lake City. Does anyone recall when the radio came out? I know I picked up mine the day it was available for sale to the dealers.

The reason I was walking down memory lane was that the first group was indeed eGroups.com so that was before Yahoo got involved.

My D700A that I purchased in 2001 is still working good, use daily during the commute to work. The microphone cable is still in good condition.
There is nothing on this radio that I can complain on (other than no ability for firmware upgrade for Smartbeacon).

Groups.io is a similar email list service (actually started by the people that created and sold what ultimately became  Yahoo Groups.

The main reason is the service and delivery of Yahoo Groups in the last month. Delayed or no mail delivery. The N1MM groups moved, as it appears the large Icom groups. DXLab was starting to move but stopped as I understand Yahoo may have solved their problem.

We can wait and see what happens for a couple of weeks and revisit it then.

Yes but just as a prelude. It is not available yet so no need to subscribe.

I don’t know what Groups.io is and I;m possible not the only one.

What is the main reason to switch, and what are the positive and negative points.

Is it time to switch? I don’t see a compelling reason to switch.

If we switch, I suspect few will make the switch. Thus, if you move you may in effect kill the group. Two other groups I belong to moved and all but died. I suggest starting the alternate group on IO and then slowly transitioning. But what actual problem for our group are you trying to solve?

Files in this group are back for those still interested, some of the files any way.

I see what is going on, thanks for the alert.

Perhaps the files are being scrubbed because of trademark or copyrignt violations.

Adding web links to the original publisher so you can go directly to the source with copyright/trademark notice and permissions might be a workaround to uploading  such files.

Tips and other nice operating techniques or observations, unless bearing copyright or trademark might be still okay in the file section.

You are absolutely correct, I meant to type this on a TMD 700 group I have, that I also cannot get files to come up on. I apologize for stepping on your toes, and request you remove those comments I made. As a member I cannot remove them.

I think you may have your groups mixed up. Are you sure you're the owner of this group? I looked about two minutes ago and it only shows you as a member of this group. I guess that's why you couldn't access the Control Panel. I can. As far as the activity level of this group, the stats show that our activity is fine. In some parts of the country, sniping members from another group for your own is a firing squad offense. Fortunately, I'm not from that part of the country. It is a little tacky, though.
