Thanks for the clue. I scrolled thru the soft keys on the bottom row until I found BCON as a choice to press. Now it appears to be working.

I do not see the BCON on the display. Back to the manuals for me, I guess. The GPS is tracking my speed, direction of travel, coordinates, etc. But not beaconing apparently.

Yes BCON needs to be on and watch the squelch setting. Too low and you will never transmit.

How is the squelch for channel A set? If it's low enough that it's breaking and therefore considered "busy" by the TNC, it'll never send a beacon.

I'm using the Garmin 2699 GPS and no reason to connect with the radio. I have the newer TM-D710GA model radio with supposedly the built in GPS.

I had a hard time of showing up on APRS.fi until I figured out my signal wasn't being heard on a gateway from inside the house.
Had to go outside or stick on a outside mounted antenna.

Now that I got my radio back from Kenwood, repaired, I'm trying to set up the aprs on it. I set up the A band as the data band, which was the default, and I inserted my call sign where it said no
