Jess, Assume you checked the power source including possible fuse condition to include fuse holder corrosion. These rigs are aging, so look for these things first. If the head is remoted? Those

Touch base with Scott Currie on Winlink. Scott does work for Master Communications in building the kits etc. He helped me get mine to work with my DRA 36.

Check the head cable, mine might turn itself off if I wiggle the cable. I plan to make my own replacement cable.

If it is power connection quality, it could happen at APRS transmit time. When the radio pulls more current, voltage to the radio drops to the point where it shuts off ... Maybe.

I had a similar issue years ago, but it was with a D-700 in a truck, with the attendant vibrations. Fix was re-doing the power connector on the power cable feeding the radio for a tighter

Apparently menu item locations have changed after Operation Panel firmware v2.13 installed.
AUX 522 Remote ID (was 923),
AUX 523 Remote Answer Back (was 924)
Have not tested but thought to post
