I don't get into that repeater with my HT well either, in order to
receive 147.300 I have to put it in the 'right spot'.

The mobile and attic antenna made it in. As expected I picked up Oak Ridge really well, but locations East and Southeast of me were either noisy or non-readable. The same situation may exist for Tellico Village but the only way to know for sure is to give it a try on the next net. TLARC had talked about trying simplex in the past and if there is enough interest we could coordinate a test in the future. Pretty much HTs will be limited to your neighborhood but you should be able to pick up quite a few in your direct area. Randy

Hi all,

Just to clarify that per the schedule shown on tlarc.org that there is "NO NET" officially scheduled during holiday weeks to give everyone some time with family or maybe you could just use a break. :) I won't be on tonight but Chuck is going to be NCS and David will be logging. If you're around, be sure to give Chuck some practice. Regarding Juan's comments and split operation, if you are not familiar with it the concept is pretty similar to repeater operation. To get on the TLARC repeater, you are listening on one frequency and transmitting 5 MHz higher. Split operation on HF works similarly but the offset isn't as much. Maybe a few hundred Hz higher on CW, or a couple kHz higher on SSB. Sometimes the DX station will say how much to go up.

C6A DXpedition (July 14-21, 2021)
Juan Lopez
Dear TLARC Members,
A team of 3 USA (Juan, Steve, and Linda) and 1 Canadian (Richard) will travel to Bimini Island next week
to put C6A on the air. We will operate from RADIO BEACH on South Bimini Island (actually a real place). The link below provides the details.
Look for C6AZM CWops #2419 during the CWT sessions next week as well. I will be checking 6 meters at the top of every hour during daylight hours and calling CQ on FT-4/8 and CW.
Hope to work many of you TLARC folks on the bands.
Fort the SSB folks in TLARC, I will make time to pick up the mic thingy and hope to hear some of you in the pile up. We will most likely be working split frequency if the pile-ups get heavy.
Hint: Ask Randy on the net tonight to explain what split operation is so you can operate properly and get us in the log.

I ran across an archive of old amateur radio call books while trying to determine the year the FCC issued my call sign. It was fun looking up some of my friends call signs. If you are looking for something to do on a rainy evening go to https://archive.org/details/callbook and search to your hearts content.

Hi folks......
I have a favor to ask......
Those who took pictures during the 2021 ARRL TLARC Field Day, would you please send me any pictures that you took? I plan on writing up an article and asking if the local newspaper will print it. Or, if nothing else, maybe we can have a slide show before one of the Club in person meetings.
Thank you for your time and help!
