We have a TERRIFIC meeting planned for tomorrow!
Hey all,
Reminder to all TLARC members (et al) about the May Meeting we have planned for tomorrow evening at the Toqua open pavilion in Tellico Village … and it’s going to be a terrific event! Directions are here.
PRE-MEETING DINNER … Many have already indicated that they’ll be attending the optional dinner planned for 5:45 pm at the Toqua Sports Bar & Grill right next to the Pavilion. If you are attending the dinner, please be timely as we want to be able order, eat and pay in time to walk over to the Pavilion for the 7pm meeting.
MEETING … Besides the regular club business (which might contain some cool news), we have a simply AMAZING presentation lined up. Sam & Rob Howard and GeorgeS will be actively describing a ham activity called “Parks On The Air,” or POTA for short, that has absolutely taken the country by storm!
Our webmaster spent some fun time putting together a super-informative PDF document providing a TON of links to POTA activities and just how YOU can play radio along with hundreds of other hams here in East TN.
Seriously, go to our web page for this POTA Primer document, or you can get there directly by going here … <https://www.tlarc.org/Events/POTA/POTA%20promo.pdf>
See you tomorrow evening!

TLARC By-laws revisions
David Andrews
Folks,
At the request of KK6OKU, a committee was formed to make specific revisions to the current TLARC By-laws. The committee, consisting of Ralph (KM4TUY) and Robin (KO4PNC) Monserrat and myself, met this week and created the appropriate language. The changes are noted on the attachment in yellow highlight. The changes were reviewed and approved by our officers and are now being presented to the general membership in accordance with our By-laws in advance of the May meeting.
The draft changes will be presented at the May meeting this Wednesday and questions will be answered. Absent any delays, we should be able to bring this for a vote at the June meeting.
Please take a few minutes to review the revision in advance of the meeting.
Thanks,
David N1ESK

If anybody is interested in 9 holes of Golf I have a tee time set up at Toqua for 4:30 and can add 2-3 people as my wife will most not likely join even though I have her listed. Then we walk over to the meeting after the round. Ted Goodhue W1EG

Soldering Demo
Hi all,
I recently produced a short video demonstrating the basics of soldering, in concert with a professor from the EE department at the University of Tennessee. It might be interesting if you are new to homebrewing and kit building.
Enjoy!

TLARC & Friends, If you are traveling the Interstate this weekend in Loudon County, expect traffic delays on I-75 North and South at mile marker 83 for bridge work. If you are going to or returning from Knoxville, try to avoid getting on or off at exit 81 (Hwy 321). You can use Watt road to get to I-40/I-75 off Highway 11. 73 David Weikert KF4DKW
