Half-Wave End-Fed antenna #Antennas

Last Saturday after attending the Superstition Superfest, Ernie (KJ7LEN) and I decided to go to the Phoenix HRO and I bought an end-fed antenna because I was inspired by the performance Woody (KJ7YYI) gets from his end fed antennas.  I was looking at an MFJ end-fed until the HRO guy and another customer told me about the Chameleon end-fed.

I spent a bit more than I originally intended, but after looking into the antenna specs (Chameleon apparently also makes antennas for the military) I think it was money well spent for a robust, light, backpackable HF antenna.

The 26 page user guide (attached) is also a pretty good primer on ways to deploy an end-fed antenna.

Now to take it out and hook it up to my G90…

Hey Rick. Looks very well made and the manual has a ton of great info. Thanks for sharing this and good-luck with it. I suspect it will work well.

I think we need to go somewhere and try out this and other antennas. How about next Wednesday if the weather is okay?

I'm up for a field outing.  Let's talk about it at the meeting Saturday.

Hey Rick,
As you heard on the Zoom the other night our member (Dagley) is offering his facility for our ham fest next summer. If you can attend it you will totally enjoy it.  It’s a beautiful facility in my subdivision.  Dagley owns it for weddings and other events.
