What do you think about starting a #DMR net for TARA? #DMR
I am trying to determine if there is enough interest in starting a new net for TARA using our DMR talkgroup (311568)
Please reply to this message with support, questions, comments, or tell me it’s a dumb idea 😉

I have been asking to have one for the last 6 months or so. Now that we have more DMR folk, I think it is a great idea. Maybe before or after the regular net on Thursday or stagger the nets one week a DMR net and vice a verso??? Lots of ways to do this. Once the DMR repeater is up and running, there will be a much greater incentive to go DMR. So I Vote YES!!!!!! Mark K On Fri, Dec 30, 2022 at 2:06 PM Ernie Junkert - KJ7LEN <tinmanej@...> wrote:

Hi Danette,
DMR is an acronym for digital mobile radio. It uses the Internet to extend the range of a dmr-equipped radio. Some of us, including Hal, have dmr radios and we have been also discussing getting Internet service in our club repeater site so that we can enable our repeater to also support dmr. 73... Rick |

I'm not sure if I need another NET in my life. Put me down as "on-the-fence".

Hi Rick
I am up to my eye balls in nets on:
Monday - Tuesday-Wednesday- Thursday. Friday or Saturday might
work for a DMR net, using my Hot Spot from San Diego. What would
be the purpose for the net?

Good question Bruce, Well, I think it would be helpful for those starting to figure out dmr and of course, like all nets it is good to regularly practice skills... there are a couple of additional skills used in dmr. I think we don't want to cram too many nets on the same day or even on the same end of the week. Any other thoughts? On Sat, Dec 31, 2022, 7:06 PM Bruce Haupt - WA6DNT <wa6dnt@...> wrote:

I like the idea of a DMR net that would be at a time I could participate. The idea of a possible tech style net to answer questions for those of us that need help in certain areas, whether it's DMR, Winlink or other modes of operation. There are those out there that are very tech minded that could answer some general tech questions that might be puzzling to some of us, so having a net geared towards that but not necessarily confined to that, as general topics would be good too, could be a worthwhile way to spend some time.
