Re: SBB-P Re 4/4 II potential withdrawals

When a locomotive like 11152 is prepped for scrap, are they still removing parts to use in the maintenance of other units or are they at just point just removing hazardous parts and sending them on their way?

Regards

11152 is reportedly withdrawn and will be going to the scrapyard in Lugano. The same has been reported for Re 6/6 11642 which has not had an overhaul in 8 years.

I missed this at the time: 11140 returned to service at the end of August

But this still doesn't expalin why they are in different classes. HGm and Tm have exactly the same motor. So they should either be

HGm, Gm and Gea

or then

Tmh, Tm and Tea

logic?

Re: 11601 and 11602

11601 was moved to Sissach last week:

The caption suggests 11602 will be used for parts only. (It had been very heavily stripped by SBB at Bellinzona). 11601 will need several repairs including damage caused by an electrical fire.

11601 last ran in service 28.08.2015 and 11602 31.10.2014

Sad news indeed. Although I never met him I was in touch with him about infrastructure matters several times and he was always very helpful

Today the sad news reached me that Hans G. Wägli, author of Schienennetz Schweiz and many other publications has passed away last Tuesday. Funeral will be on 31st October 2019 in Grafenried. Hans G. Wägli was born in 1947 and has been a long-time SBB employee.

It's called "Langwieser Aussicht", so no doubt what it is... You can search for this name in map.geo.admin.ch. Start of the hike is in Arosa. Tibert has confirmed that this was the spot.

40 min walk at high pace or one hour for normal pedestrians. One way.
I am frequently hiking in Switzerland but could not identify the spot where this photo was taken. Could somebody point me to the respective location in map.geo.admin.ch ? Would be keen to hike there.

Many thanks
Klaus

The first two cars, presumably 4001 and 4002, have been completed and
are currently undergoing dynamic testing in Bautzen. They will be
delivered to Zürich next month
.. but will not enter commercial service before next year. Meanwhile,
and due to defects and collisions, VBZ must reduce the timetable of some
lines. At the moment you might see single cars where double units should
be available.
Line 17 is cancelled and replaced by lines 6 and 10 and line 15 is reduced to 15 min interval. And, as reported, the two Mirages will go to line 13.
