Re: Hupac Vectron Locomotives

Thanks for the update. I still have not figured out who they are running for.
490/491 were reported to be in use of GTS. That may have changed after a few months.
492 had been stripped of it's Nightpiercer livery. I have not seen any news about new assignments
493 was blue with WRS markings. My understanding was that 493 was mainly for WRS operations in Germany.

I still don't know why SBB Cargo passed on these machines. I know that 494-497 were delayed so that they could be modified to be equivalent to the Re 475.
My guess is that there were too many differences between the Hupac Loks and the ELL and LokRoll units that SBB personnel are trained on.

A question regarding 193 492:

How many runs did this locomotive make in Switzerland? I have photos of it pulling a Ferrymasters container train along with a LokRoll 193.
Does anybody have any photos of other runs?

All except one pair reverse at Rotkreuz at least once either on their way in- or outbound journey.

Re: VAE new units

Martin Baumann

It was incorrect to say two diagrams would change from June 4th. So far only two units have been accepted and one is being used for crew training. One unit will be in limited passenger service and the trains are listed at

https://www.sob.ch/unternehmen/aktuelles/der-neue-voralpen-express.html

11303

11303 failed at Pratteln today while working train 1975 1413 Basel SBB-Zürich. The train was hauled back to Basel by the LRZ and passengers transferred to other services

Can we assume that an xx:24 arrival at Airolo will then depart on the next XX:40 service

Where exactly did you see them? Was it aboput here?

blue/white EW I/II coaches? Then it's a "normal" push-pull set, where the driving trailer was replaced with a locomotive.

Hello
The locos were located roughly where you show them on your map. They were identical and could have been Tm 111s. Do you have the numbers of the 2 locos that you saw, please?
Thanks
Alan

Yes - a normal EW I/II set for that diagram minus its driving trailer and with loco for the return/reverse leg.

I realised later that the same loco+coaches+loco format had worked this service on Thu 13th, but it passed me at speed whilst I was travelling inbound to Basel SBB. Interesting to see how long it lasts.

Sorry, numbers are too small to read. Would have to try to take a photo from the train but not sure if this works. The following Tm III are still in the NVR for SBB:

98 85 5231 004-3 ex 904

Pretty much, same platform (3) and that is what normally happens in Erstfeld with those trains.

Re: SZU Zürich closure

The Wiedikon trains will be worked by the SZU's two Re 450 plus an additional one leased from SBB. SZU Re 4/4 (456) are not permitted between Giesshübel and Wiedikon as they do not have ETM equipment

From the bridge on which IC to Bern leave Zürich HB, I could see a third
Tm III. But this one was (today) in a position impossible to take a
photo of.

Sorry, numbers are too small to read. Would have to try to take a

It worked for the other two, being further West, plus Ta 974, which is still yellow. The two Tm III seen are:

98 85 5231 009-2 ex 909
98 85 5231 010-0 ex 910

IC 2000 Coach Renovations

csipromo

I have seen photos of at least one or two IC 2000 (Dosto) train consists with a new livery. This new look is very similar to the colours chosen for the RABe 502 (Twindexx) trains. My question is whether this new livery will also eventually be applied to the RABe 511, 514 and other classes as well?

Does anybody know where the new livery trains will be running in early July?

Thanks and regards

Mike C

Until now, SBB applied new liveries in the moment when a general modernization was made. See EW4, IC-coaches, NPZ etc. 514 has a Zürich livery (blue) and will remain different. 511 is still quite far away from a modernization... (until then, a new person might be responsible for liveries)

Does anybody know where the new livery trains will be running in

Not sure if they will be running. It was announced that they will be put into service as complete consists, "as far as possible". Until now, none of the redesigned coaches appeared in a regular service.
