Black Friday Rover Rhino attempt
Don Zvareck KC0DWZ
Hi Brian! It was fun to get someone else from that entity as I have activated it a few times. And yes, I joined the club a couple months back and I enjoy the activity. Anoka is still my primary club but you guys seem to have a lot of fun. Don |

Nice Job Brian!.........overachiever as always! Us POTA plebes don't have a fighting chance. :)
Hey Don! thanks for the contact yesterday from Fridley by the Mississippi.....didn't realize you were in the club. Working on that log as we speak to catch up to TBB 73 all |

FB TBB Brian! Maybe take a few weeks or all of December off and relax from your QTH station?! That's a lot of work; especially for us "senior" hams. Hey, that's exactly what we need; some weighted SARA POTA scoring based on age. One level at >60 and another at >70 ... that would sure help even things out! 🤔 Again, CONGRATS on your recent FB POTA activities!! 73, OXB Dave |

At the end of the day I threw my antenna into trees 7 times and talked to 234 people on a mix of 20 and 40 meters. Thanks to three two-fers I logged 10 parks and 411 contacts. I wish I had gotten an earlier start, as I was putting
up my last antenna as the sun set over the Chippewa Moraine State Recreation Area and could have used a little more light. Regardless I logged 133 people with most of them being late shift. Do you know how when you say the same word many times in a row it
starts to lose meaning? Well somewhere around 125-175 qsos my brain started to lose the ability to think NATO phonetics and I was making up some crazy stuff. Notable contacts included Venezuela and W0NKA, who had been trying to hear me all day long, and I
switched over to 80m so we could chat briefly until my battery ultimately died.

Great job and it looks like you had fun. Interesting to see your QSOs are biased to the E-SE. I always thought it was me, my home QTH antennas, or where I did POTA from. Looks like it is most likely population density and ionospheric conditions.

Great day for a rove, Brian! I was out myself at K-2484 Frontenac State Park (17 QSOs all P2P) and a 2-fer at K-4388 Rorer Memorial Hardwood State Forest and K-9383 Goodhue-Pioneer State Trail (50 QSOs) near Haycreek in Goodhue County. Go for it Brian, maybe I'll catch up with you (on ground wave). I suppose your trek won't be taking you to Hawaii!! 🤔 😛 Good luck and have fun. Maybe take a couple of turkey sandwiches along. On Thu, Nov 24, 2022, 5:41 PM Brian KB9TBB <brian@...> wrote:

The weather looks ripe for a 10-entity Rover Rhino attempt tomorrow. Let's hope the solar weather agrees! This route includes 4 two-fers and only one repeat entity for me, the Ice Age Trail.
