Have telescoping 10" steady rest, want 9" one.

I am looking for a telescoping steady rest for a 9" lathe. I have one for a 10" lathe and would like to trade for the 9" one. The 10" one is in good shape, no welds or other fixes. I am in the silicon valley area.
I also have a belt guard (4137K1) for a counter-shaft belt motor for a 9 or 10 inch lathe, maybe others. This one appears to be for the setup where the belts (large pulley) are on the right instead of the usual ones with the belts on the left. It is also in good shape. |

Hi There,
When you say you have a steady for a 10 inch lathe, do you mean the 10K (a.k.a. light 10) or is it for the Heavy Ten (a.k.a. 10L and 10R)? Good Luck! -Blue Chips- Webb |

Hello, This is probably a very valid question as it is my understanding that the 9 inch and 10K share a different size bed from a Heavy 10 (narrower?) Good luck' Jack On 1/14/2023 12:29 AM, wlw19958 wrote:

Hi There,
The 9 inch and 10K use the same bed so a 10K steady would fit onto the 9 inch bed (but the center would be too high). The Heavy Ten does indeed use a lathe bed that is wider than the 9 inch/10K lathe bed. The OP just said he had a steady for a 10 inch lathe but not which type of 10 inch lathe it fits. That is what I'm trying to find out. Good Luck! -Blue Chips- Webb |

Bed wise it fits my 9" so it must be a 10K. The castings are PT115K1 and PT118NR1.
