Where can I buy replacement jaws for a 1948 SB 9A?

Ondrej Krejci

?

Unless the chucks have two piece jaws, masters and bolt-ons, one may procure new jaws nowhere.

Good Luck,

I suspect replacement jaws for a chuck made 71 years ago will be composed of unobtanium.  Buy a new chuck.  My South Bend 16 is a 1947 model and is fitted with all new chucks as are my two Atlas lathes from the same year.  So is my South Bend 9A from 1968.

I agree with the "new chuck" sentiment !  I purchased 4 Sanou chucks recently (Locally from CME) and @ $125 for. 6" 3 jaw scroll with backing plate, you cannot get close any other way.
Their 6" independant 4 jaw, though the screws were a little coarse on the thread, is fantastic.
 I also have 2. - 8" 3 jaw scrolls and an 8" 4 jaw independent.

Just buy a new one and machine on !

Couldn't find any, but a "Free Shipping" code/coupon would go a long way towards a new 6" four-jaw.

Thanks for the effort, but neither works on their website.  One goes to Walmart and one goes to Ebay.

In viewing the CME website, it’s not clear to me whether or not they sell a 6” back plate that will adapt either their 3-jaw or 6-jaw chuck to the 1 1/2 x 8tpi spindle on my SB9A.
I plan to call them tomorrow.
