Internal threading woes
Very nice work, saving useful machine from the scrap bin and perhaps making a hobby bring in in a few $'s.

SB 10-K - Quick Change Collets, Moving Belt Between Motor Wheels, Variable Speed Motor Conversion?
Sorry to jump in like this but I am running (at this moment ) a 10K with a 3ph, 1/2HP from a Hitachi VFD and believe it is rare that I stall the motor. Having said that, it would be nice to have 3/4HP

Making (Modifying) A Collet Closer (Draw Bar) for My L00 Heavy Ten
Very nice account and the photos to show the work. I enjoyed this as we don't often see the work of the group; also you 'repurposed an otherwise hard to salvage piece. Good work Thanks Ray

1964 10K headstock cover question
I may have that cover, I will head to my storage this morning and take a couple pics. I also have the long fibreglass cover, both of these are no longer needed by me as I bought a under drive cabinet

Acquiring Tooling for a Lathe
Simple answer Joel, most tooling has no markings as to size, taper etc. but knowing the measurements of your lathe and of course the size and model of your machine is key to obtaining the correct tool

Interesting that you aren't getting lower than 130rpm. Are you running the VFD at full RPM? I run at 20htz on mid pulley in back gear and its about 32RPM

Motor starting jolt
The motor has 2 (two) things wrong in my estimation #1 - it is a quick start motor as in last reply. Worst of all though #2 - it is too high speed for your lathe, it should be a 1725 (nominal). South
