Cutting a Worm on 9 in SB
You are correct of course, I was boggled up with a recent review over the difference between precision and accuracy from HS math for a different application and I misapplied the concept. My calculator

Cutting a Worm on 9 in SB
It really doesn’t matter what you use for PI if you are looking for an exact number without errors you are out of luck. No one has ever solved for PI exactly and they are up into the billions of digit

Paolo, I just happen to have a copy of Home Shop Machinist's Workshop and sure enough the ad was there. Last night I went to Harbor Freight and bought one of the 4X6 metal band saws. I got it home and

How about steel on my band saw
Recently I bought a Rikon 14" Pro band saw mostly for the wood shop. When I went looking around for an assortment of blades I found a 14TPI bi-metal blade that fits. Is it safe to use it to cut steel?

Eric, Actually, I only cut about 1-1/2" of thread on the end of that 6" stock. It kind of made its own relief cut because I disengaged the half nut at the end of the thread before backing the cutter o

Last night I tried to cut a thread for the first time and made a terrible job of it. I'm aware that I should have supported the work better than I did but here goes my tale of wo. I chucked up a 1/2"

I just called Shars on the phone to clarify an e-Bay listing for a 6" 3 jaw chuck with a 1-1/2"X8 TPI back plate. There was some confusion because the listing also said it was a 2-1/4"X 8 TPI and it w
