Gera box Double lever 13" South Bend HELP !!
Sounds like it could be as simple as something stuck between the gear teeth on two or more gears. Did anything make a noise? Maybe a wild chip got up in there from underneath when you last cleaned it?

Does anyone know who this collet is made by? Its from an old F.E. Weels and son Lathe. Made about 1903 -05. The threads are internal only under the shouldered collar. Thanks!

Guenther, why not just lead it? Itll definitely take the temperature fluctuations better if your shop areas only heated part time in the winter.

You dont need a milling attachment to cut a key way on the lathe. Especially if you've got a follow rest... just set your tool bits center on center (on its edge 90° to the left from normal) and with

That reversing lever set up is one more reason I like the old wide bed Series O 9" lathes. It's just like the one (in design) used on the heavy 10. Roger

Southbend 9" lathe table in CONCRETE?
Steven, you better brace it every foot to ensure straightness. I'd definitely use a type of bond breaker as well. And be sure to tap the hell out of the edges to help eliminate bug holes on the outsid

Southbend 9" lathe table in CONCRETE?
Steven, I'll first recommend that the concrete not be placed in direct contact with raw unfinished steel due to moisture issues and rust. Secondly, I'd still embed sch60 rebar 2" in from all edges and
