What collets, please
That is a tough one because all the search sites insist the searcher is an idiot, you MUST really mean 5C, so here's all the stuff on 5C collets when you've entered 5R collet.

Lifting 10K onto cabinet?
Straps around the webs in the bed, between the ways. They can't slip and slide, nor can the lathe flip upside down. Put the tailstock and saddle all the way to the end for balance.

Your lathe was made around 1904. If you want the exact date, send away to Grizzly for the info. But for one that old all you're likely to get is a copy of the ledger page listing the original shipping

You'd want to make the adapter as thin as you can. Counterbore the back so the spindle register shoulder is buried into it and the back of the adapter is >thisclose< to the headstock.

Metric Transposing gears for South Bend Fourteen
I'm pretty certain they're something other than 14 pitch. 14DP has been "obsolete" since not long after WW2. There's one company on Earth that has stock 14DP gears, but only in 20PA. They're in the UK
