Yes, the taper attachment used on the 9" standard change gear lathe (which is actually what Roger has) or the 9" quick change lathe would fit the 9" Jr of the same era. I have seen one such install

Were taper attachments actually made for juniors? This seems at odds with the concept of a budget lathe.

I dont mean to chime in as an athority on the old 1920s made "juniors", but i know that 22-29s parts do interchange. The one thing hudgely noticable the 9" lathes from this time frame have in common

That looks to me to be covered with drIed grease or something. Try hosing it off with brake cleaner and a stiff bristle brush. Not a wire brush, nylon or something like it. May also be able to chip it

Ok, you are looking for a replacement compound, or at least the base of one. Not easy to find, but they do turn up on ebay from time to time, and occasionally a member here will part one out. allan
