The only difference is how they attach to the carriage. But it is a bigdifference and the heavy 10 one is usually cheaper.

The wide bed 9" machines use the same thread dial as the heavy 10 (10L) not the one from the 9" workshop.

Is this the write thread dial for a south bend 9" wide, model 407yn, my lathe is not even drilled for the dowel, noticed some have a bolt and a dowel?
