Re: 14-1/2 spindle nose and taper
Dimitar,
Mine came with a tapered spindle sleeve that has a Morse #2 center in it. I just measured the sleeve OD at each end and the taper matches the 0.602" per foot spec for the inside of the 14.5"

My Heavy 10L has a 2-1/4-8tpi spindle nose, and uses an adapter to take an MT3 taper. It may not be the same as yours, if yours is a 2-1/4-6 nose, but it should be close. If I can find the adapter, I

Re: 14-1/2 spindle nose and taper
As said previously, I have looked at SouthBend documenation. I have not found dimensions for my spindle, nor a spindle adapter listed.
My spindle gage line is about 1.313 inches, Morse Taper #4 has

OT - Harig / AB Spin-Indexer
Does anyone have use for motorized spin-indexer? It's like new as it was recently rebuilt by Harig. Older single speed motor.
Best to everyone,
Payson.

10k cross slide nut question
Group,
I'm finally getting around to refurbing my 10k. Pulled the cross slide apart yesterday and found an extra part I think. After taking the set screw and side wedge pin out of the brass cross

Re: Removing the handwheels from the crossslide
I have used a filed down steel strip and I also have an "asparagus" picker that has had some grinding to the right shape.
Picked more asparagus in my young days that I would like to have remembered.

Thanks! I don't know why I never think to modify other tools... I have a bucket of old large flat head screwdrivers, and it only took a few minutes to grind out a notch in one. (well, more like 45,
