That is about the same price as the Drill Doctor 750x.
I have the drill doctor and it is awesome. I heard that the older models of 750 were hit and miss, but the 750x is fantastic for shop use. It

Tormek DBS-22 drill sharpening attachment
Seller accepted an offer of $185 for this and has a couple more.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/384479331400
Will try it on the WEN grinder as reported by several to be a great combo.

Re: ISO some help
Another information update. I drew up a dimensioned sketch of the collar. See the photo below. Maybe this will stir someone's thoughts/memory.
Thanks again,
Greg

I went to a saddlery shop and specifically told them what I wanted it for.
They sole me a piece of belly because it was black. It stretched far far beyond usable range.
Waste of fifty bucks.

Looks like mine, and it’s SB original. The thread protector does function as the collet holder ejector. That space is no problem, it’s by design. Carl

Your collet holder is sticking out quite a way, hence the gap. Is the holder fully seated and does it run true? The thread protector appears to be covering all the threads. The more serious purpose

Re: Seeking recomendation on flat drive belt replacement
Also, what about the plastic composition, cut belts, with the skived ends and cement? I've had one on a 9" rear drive at work for over 30 years. The lathe is used multiple times a day.

Re: Seeking recomendation on flat drive belt replacement
The real trick is to replace the belts often enough they don't fail on you, and keep the most recently replaced belt in good condition as a spare in case the one on the vehicle gets damaged by road

The silk or nylon/silon stocking trick is an old auto-mechanic's hack. Not sure how it would work in the long run.
