The fellow who briefly owned my 9C before me had cut a serpentine belt and crudely laced it together. I improved on that, following the lacing instruction in the SB manual and using 50 lb test Spider

Ebay has several sellers offering custom belts for SB and other lathes. Leather and synthetic, cut to length and with the skived joint or the alligator-style joints. Looks like $30 and up with

If no one else grabs it, I'd be happy to have it. I understand they can also be adapted to the SB Heavy 10L, which I have. As a restoration project, which is why I'm not in a rush if someone else

yep , we lost almost a whole town , it's almost impossible to get fire insurance cause the nearest fire hydrants from us are over 2 miles away & all we have is volunteer fire

I think it may be a knock out as one end is brass, and there is no obvious way to set a stop depth. But, I do not believe there is a need to knock out anything with a 3C collet. Might be for some
