Re: SB9c rebuild - Reversing Bracket
Dave,
Thanks for the pic. Any chance you can verify the tooth count on the outer gear. I’m guessing it’s a 16-tooth.
Thanks,
Greg

Re: SB9c rebuild - Reversing Bracket
SN: 114984, I believe it is about 1941.
A photo of the assembly is attached. Looks like it should be a gear and not a collar. I am guessing it should be a 16-tooth. I have one of those, but figured

Re: SB9c rebuild - Reversing Bracket
Most workshop 9” lathes use what is called a “twin Gear “ rocker assembly for reversing. But there was an early version (1934 to 1935) called a 405 or Type 5 which used a single insertable gear.

Re: SB9c rebuild - Reversing Bracket
Hey Guys,
Need someone to take a look at their 9c, or enlighten me a bit. I am assembling the reversing assembly, and there there is a reverse gear, as well as a similar sized smooth collar or spacer

Re: Anybody Ever Heard of a "Heavy" 10K Lathe?
Exactly my thought.
Knowing, even approximately, the dimensions of that dovetail would help a lot.

Anybody Ever Heard of a "Heavy" 10K Lathe?
Hi There,
There is an auction on eBay for a "Heavy" 10K milling attachment.
I have never seen or heard of a "Heavy" 10K before and as far as
I know, there isn't one. Here is a link to the auction:

SB 9" for sale
My brother has two SB lathes. He is keeping the 13" and selling the 9". I think it's a W model, made for a bench top. It's in Prescott Valley, AZ. He has an engine host for loading. Said he's

Re: New member, owner of SB vertical mill
Thanks. It's in pretty good condition, just a few table dings. Gearbox for the table power feed and such are gone, just the box where the shaft feeds in and of course the longer right side end

Nice! Those bearings are supposed to be sealed. I found a manual with an actual part number and can buy replacements. Thought about doing that and possibly removing the inward-facing seals and

Sorry about being tardy on your approval. I must have been asleep at the switch.
thats a nice Mil.l.
SB tended to use proprietary pulleys. You may need to make your own. I rebuilt a SB Drill press
