GP, have you got a mill yet? It'll need a keyway cut in it also for the feeds to work.

I also figured I would use 4140. Looks like it is just standard 1.25 and 1 inch stock. I did get the set screw out but about

I don’t have those shafts. They aren’t hard, just tough. 4140 will be fine, even better than the original.
Sorry, I don’t really want to make a service call to Cincinnati.

I missed it looking at the parts book because the second set screw is part of the base assembly not the cone assembly.
The good news is the shaft is out and the babbet

There is another set screw in the right side boss in the base
Note: don’t use heat on it. It is in the babbit.

I would like to suggest that while original 100:127 gears are expensive and hard to find, new Boston gears are available on Amazon, and most of the bushings to make them work. Took me an hour to align
