need 13" spindle/chuck info

Todd

I am having a hard time finding the exact dimensions for the 2nd 13" lathe I have. Seems to have a 1-1/16" through hole and a 1.8xx " x 8 TPI thread.  Can anyone assist with the actual thread so I can locate or make a new backplate. It only came with a collet closer & no collets. I need a chuck on it pronto.

 Thanks, Todd

Re: 13" in Michigan for parts

Todd

Folks, there are still a bunch of parts available from this old girl... Single tumbler gearbox, complete apron assy, leadscrew, complete carriage assy, banjo, lower drive assy, headstock minus spindle (babbit bearing ?), tailstock etc.  What do you all need ?

10K Under-mount Belts

Payson

Edited

Hi folks,
I'll order, i guess from Al Bino, a new flat belt this week. Has anyone noticed any vibration or tracking issues with modern belting?
I also need a v-belt. The old v-belt appears to be 11/16" across the top. The original book says, for 9 and Light 10, go to Form 921C. I only have page Form 921F, but the largest width they list there is 5/8". This one measures 41.5" long, and the book does not show half sizes.
I know there's been discussions about this before, and some of this is personal taste as well. This is for my home shop, and the lathe often sits idle for extended periods - no heavy lifting here.

I look forward to your thoughts.

Payson.

Well, I think that says good things about Groups.io, and Mark Fletcher and his team.

It's actually the nature of Groups.IO.

It was designed from the ground up to take over from Yahoo. I was told, at the time, that the programer was the same person who originally developed Yahoo Groups before Yahoo acquired them.

He mad a lot of improvements to the format, many of which we dont use.

I have really enjoyed this group even though I have not been an active machinist for decades

I inherited a family lathe that I would entertain offers to sell near

Calgary Alberta

My great uncle bought it and I first learned on it in the late 1950s. it went to my grandfather and to me and has only machined parts for model steam engines for its life with us

It is a model 89, cat no 677 z, bed 3 ½, 3 chucks, face plate, and steady bearing all original paint and condition and always in a house basement.

Any idea on worth and any interested out there?

Thank you
