I don't see why you couldn't use that felt. I would roll it up to the
proper diameter and cut it square. Don't make it too tight. Should
work just fine.

I changed the oilers in my SB9 with new ones from SB when they were
still in business. I posted the photo with a ruler for dimensions here:

The white end is a foam that compresses for spring action. The black
end goes against the spindle.

I suspected that the Workshop model is very similar.
