Hi Bert,

That reverser won't work on your lathe. The one you want looks like
this:

Unfortunately this one is already sold. But they come up regularly.

There are two types of reverse tumblers for the 9 inch lathe. One has
a spring loaded pin that mates with three holes in the front of the
headstock for forward, reverse and neutral. The other has a slot
through which a bolt threads into the left side of the headstock. You
loosen the bolt to change and tighten it to keep it in gear. It's a
bit of a pain to always go hunt for that wrench when you want to
change the feed. From the picture you sent, I think the slotted one is
what you need.
