Jim, I'm thinking he has the compound installed in the photograph sa per your discription. The 37/47 compound is pretty small. He may need to add another gear to the gear train to make it work. The 40 tooth gear might work, but I don't know how well it would ride on a shaft awith a keyway cut in the gear.
