A couple of thoughts occur to me. First, does your rear (left-hand) spindle
bearing loose oil? I had a 10K that did and the oil was leaking into the bore
for the reversing gear yoke. The well for the wick was drilled too deep and
nicked the bore.
The other thought I have is how the electric motor is oriented on the under
drive. I take it your motor is a "drip proof" type (which really isn't drip proof).
The air vents on the motor end bells may need to be rotated to prevent con-
tamination from falling into the motor.
