TRC COMPANIES, a national environmental services company, is updating our on-call positions for qualified field technicians to work in NM. This is an on-call, part time position. Field technicians applying for work need to have a background in archaeological survey in New Mexico and other southwest regional locations. Candidate will be responsible for all types of archaeological field projects, ranging from small local surveys through large, multi-state projects. TRC is recruiting for a current on-going environmental monitoring project, as well as an upcoming intensive data-recovery project in southeastern NM and other expected surveys throughout the region. We offer flexible work hours/days to aid in transitioning from Covid-19 restrictions and have a robust Health and Safety Plan with safe back to work practices and procedures.

The Archaeological Field Technician will work closely with other TRC archaeologists, environmental staff, permitting specialists, and managers in TRC's Planning, Permitting, and Licensing practice. We are looking for individuals enthusiastic about his/her work with a strong commitment to client service and technical excellence. The successful candidate will enjoy the challenges of working alongside others in a fast-paced environment and of helping to develop effective solutions to both expected and unexpected project challenges. The position will require regular travel away from the home office. The primary office is in Albuquerque, NM, however TRC has multiple offices throughout the country that the candidate may serve on specific project, if desired. TRC also allows for remote work as project demands.

Basic Qualifications:

• One or more years of progressive experience with archaeological projects in New Mexico
• Excellent interpersonal communication and management skills
• Familiarity with digital field technology (GPS, total station, etc.) and GIS applications and software
• A commitment to quality and safety
• Candidates will be required to walk long distances, and perform physically demanding tasks in varying environments and conditions (i.e. steep terrain, heat, cold)
