FIELD ARCHAEOLOGIST On-Call - Northern and Central California
Established in 1999, Transcon Environmental, Inc., offers environmental consulting services throughout the United States with our Corporate Office based in Mesa, AZ and offices in Berkeley, Ferndale, San Francisco, and Santa Rosa, California; Cedar City and Draper, Utah; Rawlins, Wyoming; and Roanoke, Virginia.
We are a steadily growing company with telecommuting opportunities employing over 45 archaeologists throughout the United States. Our highly successful team of environmental planners, biologists and archaeologists provides environmental planning, permitting, and compliance as well as infrastructure siting, Class I and Class III studies, Historic Property Treatment Plans, and environmental construction management and monitoring. We are seeking on-call archaeologists for various field assignments based out of our Northern California offices. Work will include both one-day and multiple-day assignments. Successful applicants should be able to work long days in the field, in both the winter and summer.
Compensation and Benefits:
This position is non-exempt (hourly) and not eligible for full benefits. There is potential for these on-call positions to become full-time.
Travel will be required for some projects. When working multi-day assignments, employee will be reimbursed for meals, lodging, and mileage, if applicable.
Compensation is based on qualifications and relevant experience.
The position will be base out of our Berkeley, San Francisco, Santa Rosa, or Ferndale offices. Work occurs in Northern California, with some projects in the Central and San Joaquin Valleys, occasional coastal areas, and infrequently in southern Oregon.
