Seeking Qualified Archaeological Technicians


Kautz Environmental Consultants, Inc., (KEC) of Reno, Nevada, is currently accepting applications for field technicians and upcoming excavation and survey projects. Compensation will be commensurate with experience. Anticipated fieldwork will occur throughout Nevada as well as the Reno area. Field rotations for non-local projects will be generally scheduled 8 days on/6 days off. Transportation is provided from Reno, Nevada to the project area; meal allowance and lodging will be provided for workdays. Local projects will generally be scheduled Monday-through-Friday. Meal allowance and lodging will not be provided for local projects.   




Preferred technician candidates will have a B.S. or B.A. in Anthropology or Archaeology, and at least one year of field experience. Preference will be given to applicants with a background in Great Basin and California archaeology, those with current MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) training, and those prepared to camp in remote locations. Physical requirements include the ability to stand, bend, and kneel for long periods of time; lift at least 50 lbs.; and hike 10+ miles per day in rough terrain and weather conditions.
