Project Archaeologist, Full-Time Role - San Antonio, TX Overview: Pape-Dawson, a civil engineering firm providing cultural resource management (CRM) consultation services in support of environmental, transportation, water resource, survey, and land development projects, seeks a talented and resourceful Project Archaeologist for their San Antonio Office. The ideal candidate will have archaeological experience in Texas, a stellar work ethic, and strive to support the Pape-Dawson Cultural Resources Program’s goal to be the most respected cultural resources program in our geographic and technical areas of practice. A Pape-Dawson Project Archaeologist should excel in both the field and office environment. Responsibilities: The Project Archaeologist will lead field and lab work under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and Cultural Resources Program Manager. They will be responsible for assisting senior staff in regulatory compliance at local, state, and federal levels. The Project Archaeologist will also train crew chief and field technicians in both field and lab techniques and will assist in scheduling staff for field projects. Primary responsibilities will include day-to-day management of field and/or lab duties, survey, hand excavation, GPS data collection, artifact analysis, curation, and report writing.
*Candidates selected for an interview will be required to provide a technical writing sample for which they served as the primary author.
