Job Description

 

Commonwealth is looking for temporary Cultural Resources Technicians to work on projects in Utah. Fieldwork is currently underway and will extend into September (possibly longer). There will be 8-day field sessions (Wednesday to Wednesday), working 10-hours a day. Lodging and per diem are included. These positions are hourly with a pay rate between $14 and $17 per hour, based on individual qualifications and experience.

 

Qualifications

  • Conduct a pedestrian archaeological survey, walking about 7 to 10 miles a day;
  • Work in the field under the direct supervision of a Crew Chief while conducting archaeological fieldwork;
  • Record using a Trimble GPS and thorough photo documentation; and
  • A willingness to learn and take direction, as well as, work as a team member.

 

A Bachelor's Degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a closely related field or field school or equivalent experience providing knowledge of archaeological survey and recordation techniques and methodology is preferred.
