Archaeological Field Technicians for Phase I Survey at Dulles Airport
EAC/Archaeology, Inc. is looking for temporary field technicians for a Phase I beginning immediately in Loudoun County, Virginia. Each candidate must be able to conduct pedestrian/shovel test survey, site documentation, GPS and/or paper mapping, and local artifact and raw material recognition. Candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in anthropology/archaeology, and be proficient with excavation, plan and profile maps, and accurately completing field documents with legible writing; proficiency with a Total Station or GPS is preferable. All candidates must be able to carry a pack weighing up to 20 pounds while hiking, physically traverse up to 5 miles a day, and conduct shovel testing activities throughout the work day. All staff must be able to conduct field work in a safe, responsible manner.
Salary will be $14.75 to $17.00 per hour, dependent on experience. Work duration will be approximately 2 months. For non-local applicants, single hotel rooms provided at Extended Stay America plus $35.00 per diem. These positions will be filled immediately.
Must be a U.S Citizen, have a current driver’s license and additional state-issued identification, and be able to pass a background security check to conduct field activities. Must be willing to undergo airport badging background certification.
Compensation will be determined based on experience.
