Temporary Crew Chief in Northern California

Modoc County, California is seeking an SOI qualified archaeological crew chief to lead cultural resources site documentation / recordation efforts in the Modoc National Forest. Local and / or regional persons are preferred. Crew chief will lead a team of 3-4 archaeological field technicians through possibly dense vegetation and steep terrain. Work is expected to last approximately 2 months. Successful candidate may also be asked to contribute to report upon completion of field documentation. Housing will be provided in a Modoc NF bunkhouse in Alturas. The successful candidate must hold a valid driver’s license and also be able to hike up to 5 miles cross-country with necessary field gear. Fieldwork is expected to begin on 21 June 2021 and continue through approximately 13 August 2021. Compensation is set at $21 / hr. Please send a resume with three professional references to Karl R.
