1 Field Technician Needed-Seminole Tribe of Florida, Okeechobee area

The Seminole Tribe of Florida (STOF) Tribal Historic Preservation Office (THPO) has an immediate opening for one field technician for a project that will run through mid-July. Work will occur on the Brighton Seminole Indian Reservation and lodging (single occupancy hotel room) will be provided in Okeechobee, FL. No Per Diem will be provided.

 

The field technician will be responsible for completing Phase I shovel testing and metal detecting. Field technicians will also be responsible for using GPS devices to record the location of shovel tests and cultural resources.

 

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, Archeology, History or related field is required. An archaeology field school or previous fieldwork is required. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License (or be able to possess one before work occurs). Must be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Must have the ability to travel.
