One to three (1-3) years of experience as a Field Supervisor in Archaeological projects, including project report write-up and analysis. This position involves providing cultural resources support for planning, engineering, and construction services to government, military, and commercial clients. We can teach you to use our small SEM for imaging seeds and charcoal.
• The successful candidate will have strong interpretation and writing skills,

New England Fieldwork - PAL
PAL, a leading cultural resource management consulting firm in New England, seeks experienced archaeologists located in the Northeast for 2019 project work. Projects include survey and testing (both prehistoric and historic sites) for a variety of clients. Undergraduate degree and previous CRM experience in the Eastern United States is required. Field archaeologists will work in New England; some projects are local and do not include housing and per diem; some projects involve overnight travel with housing and per diem provided.
Your employment experience must include:
• Performing archaeological survey and/or excavation at job sites using hand excavation equipment
• Conducting fieldwork in a wide range of physically demanding conditions
• Identifying pre- and post-contact cultural materials and completing standardized field forms and drawings
• Recognizing a range of soil and ground conditions and recording soil color, texture, and composition
• Using maps, compass, and/or GPS
• Ability to travel without restriction Monday through Friday (occasional weekend time may be required)
• Work is outdoors, involving hiking over uneven terrain, in variable outdoor conditions including heat, cold, moisture, and dryness
• Must be capable of meeting the physical demands of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation including:
-frequent repetitive bending and stooping, standing/walking/hiking
-lifting of less than 25 pounds
-gripping/squeezing hand tools and performing repetitive fine hand movements

ASC Group, Inc., a cultural and natural resources consulting firm headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, has openings for Archaeology Field Technicians in our Indianapolis office for seasonal, project work. We have an immediate need for a field technician for Indiana projects, and ask to be contacted by interested job seekers immediately. We would prefer candidates local to the Indianapolis metropolitan area but will consider others. Field technicians will be working under the supervision of a Field Supervisor and/or Principal Investigator. Projects will include Phase I work and require Field Techs who can navigate varying terrain and outside weather conditions.

Archaeologist – NM/TX -Audubon
Archaeologist – New Mexico
Audubon Field Solutions is seeking applications for a senior Archaeologist position local to either Midland, TX or Carlsbad, NM. This position will be one of the initial members of a growing environmental team. The Archaeologist will assist the Cultural Resources Program Director in the completion of projects in southeastern New Mexico and surrounding areas.
The successful candidate will hold a Master’s Degree in Anthropology (or closely related field), and must have a proven track record of increased responsibility. They should meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualifications Standards for an archaeologist. In addition, the candidate should hold, or be able to obtain, a General Archaeological Investigation Permit for New Mexico State Land as well as Cultural Resource Use Permits from the Bureau of Land Management.
The successful candidate should be able to conduct Class III Cultural Resources Surveys and have the ability complete / submit a technical report to the relevant agency in a timely and efficient manner. Furthermore, it will be important for the candidate to lead field crews as well as manage the field survey effort. A familiarity with Trimble handheld GPS units and other related software is also desirable.
The physical demands of the position may include the need to conduct fieldwork for extended hours over rugged terrain, often in inclement weather.
In addition, the candidate must have a current, valid driver’s license, and be willing to travel up to 50 percent of the time.
Work schedule is based on a 40-hour work week, but the opportunity for overtime exists depending on project deadlines/ time constraints. If needed, per diem will be provided on all out of town fieldwork.
