Responsibilities Employee will have the following minimum duties and responsibilities:
1. Strengthen existing client relationships and assist in development of new business opportunities with public and private sector clients in North East Texas and the surrounding region.
2. Oversee and manage Cultural Resources Compliance (CRC) staff of the Dallas RKEI office in concert and collaboration with the Cultural Resources Program Director.
3. Manage and maintain CRC projects on-budget and on-schedule for RKEI clients.
4. Coordinate with the Cultural Resources Program Director to advance the Department’s profitability and effectiveness of all archaeology staff.
TECHNICAL: 1. Serves as the lead Project Archaeologist on cultural resource projects.
2. Coordinate with the staff of the Texas Historical Commission, Texas Department of Transportation and Oklahoma Department of Transportation’s Cultural Resources Programs to ensure outstanding performance of cultural resources tasks associated with existing contract obligations.
3. Work with existing Engineering and Environmental Clients to ensure proper responses to existing contractual obligations.
4. Prepare or assist in preparing technical reports and other deliverables to ODOT, TxDOT and all other clients with whom RKEI retains contractual obligations.
5. Participate in regional organization(s) to build the business reach of the RKEI Dallas office.
6. Prepare archaeology permit applications.
7. Prepare reports from project data and field observation notes.
8. Conduct analysis of field data and artifacts recovered to aid the preparation of report data.
9. Assist with Geophysical Surveys.
10. Assist in developing and utilizing GIS data for project specific assignments.
MANAGERIAL:
1. Manages the day-to-day CRC operations of the RKEI Dallas Office.
2. Manages projects in a fiscally responsible manner.
3. Communicates professionally and in an effective manner with project staff, clients, resource agencies, sub-consultants concerning project goals and results.
4. Assists senior management to monitor technical and loss prevention practices to ensure the CRC Service Line is in substantial compliance with good accepted practices.
5. Plans and effectively utilizes managerial skills to advance the Department’s profitability and the effectiveness of all archaeology staff.
6. Plans, coordinates and documents satisfactory training of all environmental laboratory, field, and clerical staff.
7. Provides technical/project management training and mentoring to our professional and technical staff members.
Qualifications Employee shall possess the following minimum qualifications:
1. A Master’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or Historic Preservation, or a closely related field and with a minimum of three (3) years applicable experience.
2. Experience interpreting and applying Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, and the rules and regulations associated with the National Environmental Protection Agency.
3. Excellent writing skills for correspondence, proposals and reports.
4. Ability to work independently.
5. Able to present a professional appearance appropriate to regular client and regulatory agency interface.

This is a permanent, full time position developing and overseeing archaeological projects at a senior level as a Senior Archaeological Principal Investigator (PI). The successful applicant will work alongside our existing staff of PIs, Project Archaeologists (PA), and historians in serving a variety of federal, state, municipal, and private clients. Job responsibilities include the ability to plan, implement, conduct, report, and complete archaeological research including field investigations, laboratory analyses, and synthesis of data to assist in the determination of resource significance for project planning for various state and federal regulatory compliance and private due diligence investigations. This individual will be expected to interact with a variety of clients, agency staff, professional colleagues, and fellow workers. The Senior PI will direct and manage multiple projects simultaneously, while directly and indirectly supervising multiple teams of archaeologists and historians. The PI will be responsible for ensuring scientific quality of projects, ensuring compliance with applicable statutes and regulations, and for maintaining schedules and budgets. Minimum Qualifications Candidates must have an advanced degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a closely related field and 10 or more years of professional archaeological experience including at least 3 years as a PI. Candidates must also demonstrate a substantial publishing/reporting record, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a thorough working knowledge of federal and state laws, as well as regulations and guidelines pertaining to cultural resources. Knowledge of and experience with current technologies of electronic data collection, analysis, reduction, display, and reporting are essential. The ability to develop and maintain business relationships is required. The successful candidate must be willing to work from AmaTerra’s Austin, Texas office and assume a roughly 20 percent travel commitment. Responsibilities: The candidate is to act as both a senior archaeologist and supervisor supporting the Intermountain Region’s Principal Investigator during cultural resource undertakings. Potential field work includes, but not limited to, field inventory, monitoring, evaluative testing, and site mitigation. Field work tasks can include leading technician crews and working with subcontractors. Office work will include pre-field preparations, technical report writing, sites forms, and related tasks for a given undertaking. Frequent coordinating with lead agencies and project stakeholders is also expected for this position.
Qualifications: The candidate must have at least five years of cultural resource management experience in the Great Basin and Intermountain West of the United States. The candidate needs to at least qualify as a field supervisor for inclusion on Bureau of Land Management cultural resource blanket permits on one or more of the states in which the Intermountain Region operates: Utah, Wyoming, Nevada, Idaho, and/or Colorado. Holding current MSHA Part 46 certification and GIS skills are a plus. Pay will be depending on experience.

POSITION A Cultural Resources Specialist position is available with the Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML). This position will be located at Fort Campbell, KY. This announcement is for a full-time hourly position with potential to become a full-time, permanent position.
ORGANIZATION CEMML is a research, education, and service unit within the Warner College of Natural Resources at Colorado State University (CSU). CEMML applies the latest and most appropriate science to promote the sustainable management of natural and cultural resources on Department of Defense (DOD) and other public lands. RESPONSIBILITIES The Cultural Resource Specialist will support the Fort Campbell Cultural Resources Manager (CRM) by ensuring the Army’s compliance with cultural resources laws, primarily Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA). S/he will assist with implementing Army policies, procedures, and management plans. Compliance will require developing technical analyses and associated reports as well as coordinating the actions of other cultural resources contractors. Position will review projects and dig requests to determine the potential impacts to archaeological and historic resources, sacred sites, and cultural objects. S/he will assist Fort Campbell’s CRM by completing necessary Section 106 compliance actions, including monitoring and mitigation of impacted resources. In addition, s/he will perform research and fieldwork including surveying, testing, and data recovery necessary for the identification, documentation, evaluation, and reporting of cultural resources, especially archaeological sites and historic properties. The Cultural Resources Specialist will prepare National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) site evaluations, technical reports, and documents; conduct data analysis; and contribute to research designs. S/he will maintain archaeological site inventories and related files for the CRM and other military officials, including GIS layers.
The ideal candidate will take initiative and solve problems to ensure tasks are completed in the most effective manner, actively participate as a CEMML partner with Fort Campbell’s officials and contribute to team efforts in project completions. The Cultural Resource Specialist will be required to cooperate, coordinate, and communicate effectively with individuals in environmental resources, public works, and military operations in support of the Army’s mission. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The successful candidate must be able to walk long distances in adverse terrain and inclementweather carrying all necessary supplies and equipment. This position may also require bending, climbing, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS A MS/MA in anthropology, archaeology, historic preservation or closely related field and completion of an archaeological field school. The applicant must have at least one year of professional experience in archaeology, involving archaeological survey and excavation methodology, resource significance assessment, technical report preparation, project impact assessment, and cultural resource management. Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to cultural resource management, including NHPA and 36 CFR 800 is a must. The successful candidate must have or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license. U.S. citizenship is required for military base access.

LSA, a California environmental and planning firm, is seeking qualified individuals for an hourly Cultural Resources Analystposition with LSA’s Northern California Cultural Resources Group (CRG) in its Point Richmond office in the San Francisco Bay Area. The selected individual will conduct fieldwork, including archaeological survey, excavation, and monitoring. Please note that monitoring will likely comprise the bulk of work assignments. Basic report writing opportunities may be provided based on workload and the applicant’s facility with technical writing. Projects can be multi-disciplinary, involving knowledge of cultural resources management, prehistoric and historic-period archaeology, history, historical architecture, or traditional cultural properties. Fieldwork will occur primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area or Central Valley, but there is the potential for overnight or extended stays being required for far afield projects. The successful candidate will have: • A B.A. in Cultural Resources Management, Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related field (or will be awarded the degree within 6 months of hire), with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in cultural resources management, preferably in California.
• An understanding of federal and State cultural resources regulations and legislation, particularly Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
The successful candidate must be comfortable conducting research or fieldwork in remote, rugged locations in which resourcefulness and wilderness knowledge are essential to successful project conclusions. Excellent organizational skills, ateam-oriented and positive attitude, and a solid work ethic are paramount for this position. Schedule flexibility, including the ability to potentially work weekends and holidays, is a must.
