Archaeological Field Technician - Bismarck, North Dakota


Archaeological Technician

Beaver Creek Archaeology is an established Cultural Resource Management firm headquartered in Bismarck, North Dakota which is currently seeking to fill multiple vacancies for an Archaeological Technician. These positions are a seasonal, full-time position from mid-April for a minimum of two-months. Work will be conducted throughout North Dakota. Project schedule will be five days on (Monday through Friday) with weekends off. Employees will be responsible for food and lodging on their days off. Per Diem ($40/day) and lodging will be provided during working days.

Technician Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with a team to perform Phase I, II, and III archaeological fieldwork
  • Prepare and keep detailed notes, records, and photographs for report composition

The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Professional demeanor and positive attitude
  • Adaptability to rapidly changing project needs and scheduling
  • Ability to work under supervision and within a team

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.A. or B.S. in Archaeology, Anthropology or closely related field
  • 1 cumulative year of relevant work experience
  • Experience with Trimble GPS or similar hardware
  • Ability to walk long distances in extreme weather conditions through rugged terrain
  • Ability to work 100% in the field
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
