Beaver Creek Archaeology is an established Cultural Resource Management firm headquartered in Bismarck, North Dakota which is currently seeking to fill one or more vacancies for an Archaeological Crew Chief. This position is a seasonal, full-time position from mid-April through November. Potential for permanent, full-time placement exists for those candidates who perform job functions at an exceptional level. Work will be conducted throughout Colorado, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming. Schedule will vary by project. Per diem and lodging will be provided during projects.
Crew Chief Responsibilities:
Assist PI/Field Director with site recording, photography, and note taking
Perform Phase I, II, and III archaeological fieldwork
Supervise survey crews
The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:
Demonstrated leadership ability
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work with minimal
supervision
Professional demeanor and positive attitude
Adaptability to rapidly changing project needs and scheduling
Preferred Qualifications:
B.A. or B.S. in Archaeology, Anthropology, or closely related field
2 years of relevant work experience
Faunal analysis experience
Experience with Trimble GPS or similar hardware
Ability to walk long distances in extreme weather through rugged terrain
Ability to work 100% in the field
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
