Immediate Long Term Archeological Field Technicians Needed – Arkansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Texas

Initial Project Needs

  • Archeological monitoring near downtown Dallas, Texas
  • Multiple archeological surveys across Arkansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Texas
  • Phase II testing at an early to mid-20th century site near downtown Dallas, Texas


  • Initial pay will be $18.50 to $22/hr based on experience.
  • Per diem will be based on GSA rate for project location.
  • Overtime beyond 40hrs per week is expected and will be paid at time and half
  • Single occupancy lodging will be provided
  • Typical Schedule –10 days rotations and standard Monday through Friday schedules will be required.
  • Maximum 10hr days anticipated


To apply for this position the applicant must meet the following qualifications:

·         Hold a bachelor’s degree in anthropology, archeology, or a closely related field

·         Have a minimum of 12 months field experience or have completed an accredited archeology field school required

·         Experience conducting archeological monitoring and/or survey

·         Experience recording sites, completing field notes and paperwork, and familiarity with GPS and GIS technology

·         Must be able to mobilize quickly

·         Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record

·         Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and included within pool for quarterly random drug testing

Physical Demands:

Physical requirements for project will included:

·         Regularly required to use hands, walk, sit, talk, and listen, stand; climb, balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

·         Monitoring work will require long periods standing

·         Survey work will require hiking multiple miles daily over rugged terrain while shovel testing

·         Work is less than favorable environmental conditions

·         The employee must occasionally lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds.
