Architectural Historian – SF Bay Area
MIG, Inc. is seeking a qualified Architectural Historian for work based out of our San Jose office.
MIG is a multidisciplinary planning firm that offers comprehensive environmental consulting services with expertise in environmental impact analysis, and cultural resource evaluations, meeting California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) standards.
To be considered, the applicant should meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Standards for Historic Architecture or Architectural History. The applicant should also be based in the Bay Area, or easily able to conduct site visits to historic properties in the area at short notice (a valid driver's license and insurance are required).
The ideal candidate has 3 or more years of experience conducting historic and historic architectural research, analysis, and report preparation to state and federal historic preservation compliance standards. Familiarity with CEQA, NEPA, Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, Section 4(f) of the US DOT Act, and HABS/HAER documentation is preferred. GIS experience is a plus, but not required. However, MIG welcomes applications from qualified Architectural Historians of all experience levels.
